Elite Group Acquires MWL Systems

Elite Group has agreed its latest acquisition with MWL Systems.

Operating from their office in Wrexham, MWL Systems is an established IT support and services provider with more than 35 years of experience. This acquisition marks Elite Group’s 17th since 2008 and further accelerates the growth of Elite’s rapidly expanding IT Services division.

MWL Systems brings a highly qualified team of systems engineers, consultants, software developers and first-line support technicians. The company has built a strong reputation for reliable, cost-effective IT solutions that help businesses operate efficiently and scale with confidence. Adding this level of expertise strengthens Elite Group’s ability to support customers across both communications and IT.

Tech entrepreneur Matt Newing, founder of Elite Group, says he is delighted to welcome the MWL team and the additional capabilities they bring.
Newing added, “Elite will continue to grow through both organic means and acquisition. We have a further £20m in our acquisition war chest and are actively looking for opportunities”.

Rob Sims, Group CEO, commented, “As more of our customers rely on us for both their communications and IT requirements, strengthening our knowledge base, skills and expertise is essential. By acquiring MWL Systems, we are gaining experience that will help us enhance the service we deliver and continue to expand our business”.

What This Means for MWL Customers

MWL Systems’ clients will continue to be supported by the same friendly and highly skilled Wrexham-based team. Account managers will remain unchanged, and customers will keep receiving the high-quality service they rely on. Now, they can also access the wider range of products, services and specialist knowledge available across Elite Group.

Matthew Kingsley-Williams, former MD of MWL Systems and now part of Elite’s leadership team, said the team is excited about the new opportunities the acquisition brings and looks forward to introducing customers to the broader Elite offering.

The acquisition was led by Alex Cliffe, Commercial Director, and Rob Burbidge, Group CFO, with legal support from Elite’s Counsel Gareth McIntegart. Leveraged finance was provided by the company’s existing lender, Lloyds Banking Group. MWL Systems was represented by KBS Corporate.

Elite intends to continue growing through both organic and acquisitive means. The team is actively seeking IT and communications businesses that complement Elite’s existing product portfolio.
