“The Elite team is very professional. If you go to them with an issue, the team looks around the problem, works out what the business needs and comes up with the right solution at the best price. That’s why I go back to them; I trust their judgement.”
Is EoFTTC Better Than Standard Broadband?
Elite’s EoFTTC uses a combination of Ethernet, traditional copper and next-generation fibre optic lines. The service provides similar benefits to an Ethernet Leased Line, including enhanced SLAs and guaranteed bandwidth, but at a lower price point with faster installation times.
Unlike standard business broadband (where the copper line extends all the way to the exchange) EoFTTC traffic only travels over copper to the green cabinet before continuing its journey to the exchange across a shared fibre optic circuit.
The result is connectivity that isn’t hampered by long lines of copper, allowing for symmetrical speeds of up to 20Mbps, with downstream boosts, making bandwidth of 76Mbps possible.

An Ethernet Service Without the Cost
EoFTTC promises fast, symmetrical upload and download speeds, whilst remaining cost-effective.
This solution offers wide coverage across the UK and is often chosen for its ability to rapidly transfer large data files and run simultaneous applications, such as SIP and video-conferencing.

Case Study – Chantelle Lighting
Bespoke, decorative lighting manufacturer, Chantelle Lighting, were looking for a connectivity solution that enabled them to move their business-critical applications away from their on-premise server and transfer their communications to the cloud. Watch this short clip to see how a resilient, leased lines solution from Elite enabled Chantelle Lighting to achieve these objectives.

Customer Reviews
“When we looked at our existing suppliers, side-by-side, Elite Group stood out as the provider who looked after our needs the best. Elite Group were always available to speak with when we contacted them, ready to offer advice, and we had access to a dedicated account manager who ensured our needs were always being met. It made sense that we would look to shift all communications to them.”
“Due to my technology background, I immediately knew that our existing telephony system was not fit for purpose, especially during the stresses of the current pandemic. It was a high priority to support our staff and our customers with the demands of the new way of working. We needed a system that we could use onsite, on the go and from home, which we could manage ourselves, but still have support on hand.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Is EoFTTC the right connectivity product for my business?
EoFTTC is a great fit for businesses needing better SLAs and guaranteed bandwidth than is available with business broadband
, but don’t have the budget for a full Ethernet Leased Line.
How does EoFTTC compare to other Ethernet products?
We have a selection of other Ethernet products available:
- Ethernet First Mile is similar to EoFTTC and comes with similar enhanced business SLAs.
- Ethernet Leased Line is the best-in-class Ethernet product and is essential for businesses where bandwidth and service continuity are critical.
- Ethernet Point to Point connections are essentially the same asLeased Lines
, but connect two geographically separated sites together, instead of connecting a single site to the internet.
How do Ethernet type products compare to broadband?
Broadband was released more with a residential usage in mind. As such, bandwidth is asymmetric (faster download than upload speeds) and SLAs aren’t as robust. These differences are represented in the upfront cost of the two services; however, Ethernet-based services deliver better long-term ROI.
Can I migrate from another service provider?
Unlike broadband, there are no ‘take over/migration’ order journeys for Ethernet. As such, when moving between suppliers, a new Ethernet circuit would need to be installed with the old one ceasing once you’ve physically migrated your dependent services.
I've been using broadband, but I want to upgrade to Ethernet. What do I need to know?
Ethernet is a data-only service, so cannot be used for PSTN calls, but separate VOIP type voice services can be added. The Ethernet router we provide is only used for connecting, managing and monitoring the connection, so installing a hardware or software firewall is essential. The Ethernet cable connects to an Openreach Leased Line ONT and then to a router, so be conscious of power/rack space/mounting requirements.
Do you need to access my premises to install the service?
Yes. The number of site visits depends on the level of work involved, which is subject to how much Ethernet infrastructure is already present on your premises. Often, it’s just one or two visits (for simple fibre installation and circuit go live), occasionally it’s more.
