How Does Ethernet Point to Point Work?
Point to Point Ethernet is a powerful means of connecting two geographically separate premises together with a fast, reliable and highly secure Ethernet connection.
This solution uses the same technology as Ethernet Leased Lines, but does not have an integrated link to the internet. Instead, by connecting two points together, it allows data and applications to be shared between locations with low latency, high speed and formidable security.

Customer Reviews
“When we looked at our existing suppliers, side-by-side, Elite Group stood out as the provider who looked after our needs the best. Elite Group were always available to speak with when we contacted them, ready to offer advice, and we had access to a dedicated account manager who ensured our needs were always being met. It made sense that we would look to shift all communications to them.”
“Due to my technology background, I immediately knew that our existing telephony system was not fit for purpose, especially during the stresses of the current pandemic. It was a high priority to support our staff and our customers with the demands of the new way of working. We needed a system that we could use onsite, on the go and from home, which we could manage ourselves, but still have support on hand.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Is an Ethernet Point to Point (P2P) service the right connectivity product for my business?
The service has specific use cases. It is ideal if your business needs to extend its LAN to multiple, geographically separate sites or share centralised business resources. As the product does not provide a link to the internet, at least one of your connected sites needs a service such as an Ethernet Leased Line that can then be shared to your other locations.
How do Ethernet type products compare to broadband?
Broadband was released more with residential usage in mind. As such, bandwidth is asymmetric (more download than upload) and SLAs aren’t as robust. These differences are represented in the upfront cost of the two services; however, Ethernet-based services deliver better long-term ROI.
Can I migrate from another service provider?
Unlike Business Broadband
, there are no ‘take over / migration’ order journeys for Ethernet. As such, when moving between suppliers, a new Ethernet circuit would need to be installed with the old one ceasing once you’ve physically migrated your dependent services.
How do I find out if I can get an Ethernet Point to Point?
You will almost certainly be able to get a Point to Point connection. The cost will be dependent on your distance to the nearest Point of Presence but we are happy to check availability and provide a quote, so please get in touch.
Is an Ethernet product always the best connectivity option?
Every connectivity product we sell has its use case. If you need the fastest possible installation and there is no Openreach infrastructure, Mobile Broadband is the best fit. If you need a cost-effective service for a satellite office with few users, Broadband is probably best. If you are not sure what you need based on your specific requirements, please get in touch and we will help you find the right solution.
Do you need to access my premises to install the service?
Yes. The number of site visits depends on the level of work involved, which is subject to how much Ethernet infrastructure is already present on your premises. Often, it is just 1 or 2 visits (for simple fibre installation and circuit go live), occasionally it’s more.
